What is Wistia?
Wistia is a video hosting and analytics service that serves as a hub for your It’s a Money Thing videos. This service is included in all levels of It’s a Money Thing membership. Whether you’re looking to embed videos on your website, share videos on social media, or track your video statistics, you start by logging in to your Wistia account.
Login
When you first subscribe to It’s a Money Thing, your primary contact will receive an invitation to your Wistia account by email. It will look something like this:
Note: Not seeing the invite email in your inbox? Check your spam folder. Still no luck? Let us know by sending us a message to info@currencymarketing.ca.
The invitation link will take you to Wistia’s sign in page. If it’s your first time using Wistia, click Sign Up to create a new account.
Enter your name and password, then click Create a Free Account.
Channel Overview
When you first sign in to your Wistia account, you’ll see a home page that displays an overview of all the content that you have access to.
You will see a Channel titled with your credit union name that looks something like this:
Click on your credit union name to view your Channel.
You will see your entire library of It’s a Money Thing episodes, grouped by category.
Note: Clicking on the category title toggles between showing and hiding all videos within that category.
Channel Options
A Note About Advanced Channel Settings in Wistia:
When your Wistia account is first set up, the Currency team takes great care to optimize your Channel settings. Changes to these default settings may prevent your videos from displaying correctly. For this reason, please avoid making any changes to your Channel Details, Subscribers and Edit/Preview Channel options. Instead, send us an email at info@currencymarketing.ca.
Channel Options help you track and manage your entire library of episodes.
Channel Options are found in the sidebar to the left of the Channel Page.
Options include:
- Analyze: Filter and view your Channel’s statistics, including total plays, total time played and top episodes.
- Permissions: Grant team members access to your Channel on Wistia.
- More Options: Download all video files in a single zip archive for offline use.
Note: The Promote and Podcast options cannot be modified without a separate paid Wistia subscription.
Episode Options
Your Episode Overview Page helps you track and share individual episodes.
From your Channel Page, click on an episode. You will see the selected episode displayed within a player, as well as a blue Preview button in the upper right corner of the screen. Also note the options available in the sidebar to the left.

- Analyze: View video-specific statistics, including total plays, play rate, and average engagement.
- Embed: Copy the embed codes for sharing your episode on your website or by email.
- Share: Copy the public link for sharing your episode on social media.
- More Options: Download a single episode by choosing from a wide range of file sizes.
Video Player Overview
Additional features are accessible through the video player itself.
Note: Video player features are publicly available (anyone viewing the video has access to them).
The buttons along the bottom of the video player give viewers the following episode playback options:
- Captions: Viewers can choose to show/hide closed captions or search the entire video transcript, right within the video player.
- Volume Control
- Video Speed and Quality Settings
- Fullscreen Mode
Account Settings
To update your account settings (such as your email, password, time zone and notification preferences), click on Account | Settings in the upper right corner of the screen.
